The immune system is our protection. Its work and the synthesis of immune cells require resources. And this is not about stimulating immunity with various remedies: our task is to give the immune system exactly what it needs.
What the immune system needs
- Quality proteins. Immunoglobulins are synthesized from them. Bone broth is a good option in the diet.
- Immune vitamins: vitamin A — 10,000 IU a day, vitamin C in ascorbate form — 500 mg, vitamin D — 5,000 IU.
- Trace elements: zinc — 20 mg, iodine — 200 mcg, selenium — 200 mcg a day.
- Healthy sleep. If you go to bed later than 11:00 p.m., little melatonin is produced — the sleep hormone that also supports the immune system's defenses.
- A healthy nervous system. Overwork lowers immune protection: when you are tired, give yourself rest.
- Hemoglobin and ferritin. The immune system badly needs iron — have the test done at a laboratory.
- Probiotics to support the gut microflora: that is exactly where immune system cells are concentrated.
Helper herbs
- Any berries — fresh or frozen, a handful every day: a source of vitamins.
- Rosehip — in any tea; crush it first and do not brew it with water hotter than 60 °C, and preferably 40 °C, otherwise we destroy vitamin C.
- Meadowsweet (dropwort, whitehead) — for any acute respiratory infection: both as an antiviral and as a fever reducer.
- Raspberry: berries and leaf — a natural source of salicylates.
- Blackcurrant — tasty and healthy: leaf and berries.
- Mint — for any malaise: it calms and relieves spasms.
- Thyme — the best natural antibiotic.
And beekeeping products are a must as well: propolis and bee bread. Stay healthy!
The dosages are given as a guideline from the author's recommendations; it is better to agree on vitamins and trace elements with a specialist.
